The BOX HILL AQUATIC CENTRE project was the redevelopment of an existing Sports and Aquatic Centre. The project had some significant environmental challenges including reusing the existing pool structure. Included in the redevelopment was the sealing of the building structure to the noted European Standard with a permeability rating of 5 achieved. This allowed for the air pressure control of the air conditioning systems within the pool hall allowing achieving a reduction in energy and water consumption within the facility.

The facility included a new Outdoor 25m Pool, Indoor warm Pool and Spa, new Learn to Swim and Aquatic Playground, 4 Program Fitness Rooms and 700m sq Gymnasium. The facility also included the installation of a 130kWe Cogeneration Plant, Solar Hot Water for domestic hot water, air pressurisation control system utilising the ‘Bauer’ control technology within the pool hall.
